A living pond, generated entirely in code. Every koi is one of a kind — its pattern painted the moment it spawns, its body drawn point by point as it swims. Tap the water to feed the fish, drag to stir ripples, and open the settings to shape the pond, the light, and the weather.
Koi Pond is a free browser-based koi pond simulator. Every koi is generated in code — unique pattern, size, and personality — swimming in real-time WebGL water with ripples, caustics, lily pads, and a day-night cycle. No account, no download, no signup.
Yes — completely free with no hidden limits, no account required, no watermarks, and no feature gates. Everything runs on your device.
Tap or click anywhere on the water to drop food pellets. Nearby koi will break formation, swim over, and gulp them at the surface — complete with ripples and splash sounds. Drag across the water to stir ripples without feeding. You can turn feeding off in settings.
No. Everything runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebGL. Nothing is uploaded, there are no servers, and no tracking beyond basic anonymous page analytics.
The generator draws from real nishikigoi varieties: Kohaku (white with red), Sanke (white, red, and black), Showa (black base with red and white), Tancho (a single red crown spot), Bekko, Asagi, Chagoi, Ogon, and Platinum. Every pattern is painted procedurally, so no two koi are ever identical.
Neither. There are no image files, sprites, or SVGs — every fish body is built point by point as live geometry, and every pattern is painted by an algorithm the moment the fish spawns. The water, floor, lily pads, and light are generated in shaders.
Yes. It runs on any modern phone, tablet, or computer with WebGL2 support, and automatically adjusts quality to keep the water smooth. Tap to feed, drag to ripple.
My Koi and Pocket Pond 2 are downloadable apps with canned fish models, accounts, and in-app purchases. Koi Pond is free, instant, and fully generative — every fish is unique, nothing is purchased or unlocked, and you can export a 4K wallpaper or record a video of your pond, which those apps don't offer. For more water in your browser, try Pool Party or Other Oceans.
Yes. Export a 4K PNG wallpaper of the current moment, or record a video — it downloads as an MP4 in Chrome, Edge, and Safari (WebM in Firefox) and plays in standard players and editors. You can also export your pond settings as JSON and re-import them later.
Records live — the pond keeps responding to your taps while it captures. Downloads as MP4 (WebM in Firefox).
