A 3D ice-block tapping game inspired by the classic Don't Break the Ice. Tap a block to chip its wedge loose — a quick tap is gentle, a firmer press hits harder. Keep tapping until it works free and drops; the force also shakes the ice around it, so a hard tap near the penguin is risky. Knock out the wrong block and the penguin loses its support and falls. Drag to spin the board, scroll or pinch to zoom. Play against the CPU or a friend, and pick a board size — 4×4, 6×6, or 8×8 — to dial how long and tricky the round runs.
Tap an ice block to work it loose — a quick tap is light, a firmer press hits harder, and you keep tapping until the block drops through. You can tap any block except the one the penguin stands on. Each block is wedged by the blocks around it, so freeing one can drop the blocks that leaned on it, and a hard tap shakes the whole structure. You only lose if the penguin falls, so the skill is choosing blocks that don't cut off its support. Whoever drops the penguin loses the round.
Thin Ice is an original 3D game inspired by the classic tabletop game Don't Break the Ice. It uses the same core idea — tap out ice blocks without dropping the figure on top — recreated in your browser with a rotatable 3D board, real falling physics, a CPU opponent, and a two-player hotseat mode.
Yes. Choose "vs CPU" from the start screen and the computer takes its own turns, thinking ahead to avoid dropping the penguin. Pick "2 Players" to play hotseat against a friend on the same screen.
Drag anywhere to orbit the board a full 360 degrees. Scroll on desktop or pinch on mobile to zoom. Tap a block to chip it loose — a firmer, longer press hits harder. Dragging only moves the camera, so you can line up the angle before you tap.
Each block is held up by the blocks around it. Knock one out and neighbors can lose support and fall too, sometimes a chain reaction. Extra blocks falling is fine — you only lose if the penguin drops, so plan which blocks to remove and which to protect.
Thin Ice is completely free and runs in your browser on phones, tablets, and computers. Nothing installs and nothing is collected. It is one of many free games and tools in Chris Pirillo's arcade.
A round usually lasts about ten to fifteen taps before the ice gives way and the penguin falls. Games are quick, so it is easy to play a best-of series or pass the device back and forth for a few rounds.
