A generative geometric pattern studio for weaving deterministic tiles into repeat-ready vector art.
Fifty-two tile families span Truchet curves, girih and knot interlace, waves, lattices, botanical marks, technical traces, mosaics, stars, and architectural linework. Search, filter by family, or favorite the sets you return to.
Every family—including strapwork—draws from the full active palette. Palette Lock now protects the selected colors, ink order, and distribution mode together, while custom palettes start in full-color mode unless you explicitly choose monochrome.
Preview a 3×3 repeat, choose seven aspect ratios, twelve arrangements, and seven symmetry modes, save named designs locally, restore the last session, copy shareable permalinks, and export clean SVG or transparent PNG at up to 6000 pixels.

Tesselchet is a free, browser-based studio for making seamless geometric patterns from 64 tile families: Truchet curves, girih, weaves, mosaics, stars, and more. Pick a tile set, shuffle a seed, tune the palette, and export clean SVG or PNG. Nothing installs and nothing uploads; it all runs on your device.
Yes. Each tile is drawn so its edges line up with its neighbors no matter how the cells are arranged or flipped, so the pattern tiles edge to edge with no visible seams. Turn on Repeat preview to see a 3×3 tiling before you export.
Completely free, with no account, no signup, and no watermark. Your saved designs and custom palettes live in this browser, on this device.
Vector SVG or raster PNG, up to 6000 pixels on the long edge, with an optional transparent background. The SVG is plain line work, so it drops straight into Illustrator, Figma, Inkscape, or a pen plotter.
Yes. Patterns you generate are yours to use on websites, packaging, fabric, wallpaper, print, and products. No attribution required.
Every design is deterministic: the same seed always rebuilds the exact same pattern. Copy the permalink to keep or share a design, and it reopens identically for anyone who opens the link.
Those stamp a single shape into a grid. Tesselchet is a tile studio: 64 families of edge-matched Truchet and girih tiles that flip and interlock cell by cell, with deterministic seeds, custom palettes, and pen-plotter-ready line output. Reach for it when you want line-based geometric and tessellated patterns rather than shape-fill backgrounds.
Yes. Under Save, use Export JSON to download all your saved designs as one file, then Import JSON to load them into another browser or on another device.
Yes. Under Save, choose 3D Print to turn the pattern into a raised relief on a base plate and export a watertight STL for your slicer. You set the tile size, line width, line height, and base thickness in millimeters, and it flags anything below the printable wall. The 3D engine loads on demand, so it needs a connection the first time.
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, or phone. On a touch screen you drag across the plate to flip tiles instead of using the keyboard.
Your pattern becomes a raised relief on a base plate — export a watertight STL, ready to slice.
Runs entirely in your browser via manifold-3d (loaded on demand). Inspired by Jeff Barr's TruchetTilings.
