Is QR Generator free?

Yes. It is completely free with no hidden limits, no account, no watermark and no feature gates. Every code you make is a static QR code that you own outright, so it never expires and nobody can switch off the link behind it.

How do I make a QR code with my logo in the middle?

Open the Logo section, choose an image or drag one onto the preview, then set the logo size. Keep the logo under about 25 percent of the code and leave error correction on High, which lets a scanner rebuild the covered squares. A PNG with a transparent background looks best. The app draws the logo into the export at full resolution, so a 4096 pixel PNG keeps a sharp logo.

Does QR Generator collect my data?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your text, Wi-Fi password, contact details and logo image never leave your device, there is no server and no upload. Style settings are saved in your own browser storage so the app looks the way you left it, and you can clear them with the Reset button. The only tracking is anonymous page analytics.

Why does my QR code not scan?

Four causes account for almost all failures. The contrast between the dots and the background is too low, so keep the ratio above about 4 to 1 and always make the dots darker than the background. The quiet zone is missing, so leave the margin at 4 modules or more. The logo covers too much of the center, so keep it under 25 percent with error correction on High. Or the printed code is too small, so allow about 1 inch for every 10 inches of scanning distance. The app shows a live scan health readout that flags the first three.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static QR code stores the data itself in the pattern, so it works forever and needs no service behind it, but the destination cannot be changed once printed. A dynamic QR code stores a short redirect URL owned by a vendor, so the destination can be edited and scans can be counted, but it stops working if that vendor shuts down or the subscription lapses. QR Generator makes static codes.

Can I export a transparent QR code or an SVG for print?

Yes. Set the background to Transparent and export as PNG or WebP to get a code with a clear background you can drop over artwork. For print, export SVG, which is vector and stays sharp at poster size and opens in Illustrator, Affinity Designer, Inkscape and Figma. JPEG has no transparency, so a transparent background is flattened onto white.

What size should I export a QR code for printing?

Use SVG whenever the printer accepts vector, because it has no fixed resolution. If you need a raster file, work back from 300 DPI at the printed size: a 1 inch code needs 300 pixels, a 2 inch code needs 600, and a 4 inch code on a flyer needs about 1200. The 2048 and 4096 pixel presets cover posters and signage with room to spare.

Does the Wi-Fi QR code work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Point the built-in camera at the code and both iOS and Android offer to join the network. Pick the encryption that matches your router, which is WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost every modern network, and tick Hidden network only if the router does not broadcast its name. The password is written into the pattern in plain text, so treat a printed Wi-Fi code the same way you would treat the password on a sticky note.
