Emoji Press is a 3D emoji screensaver. A roll of paper drives around a floor and prints emoji onto the strip it leaves behind, working through the entire Unicode emoji set one plate at a time. You can steer the roll with your pointer, hand it to autopilot, or leave it running as an ambient display.
3,884. The Unicode Consortium recommends 3,953 emoji as of Emoji 17.0, counting every skin tone and gender variant, every ZWJ sequence, and every flag. Emoji Press prints all of them except 69 that are really typography rather than pictures. The roll shuffles the rest and prints each one exactly once before the sequence repeats. If your device's emoji font is missing a design and draws two entries identically, the press skips the repeat, so a pass on your machine may run slightly shorter than 3,884.
Because they are lettering, not pictures. The 69 skipped entries are the ones that print as type: keycap digits like 1️⃣, the squared letters and CJK squares, the BACK and SOON arrow set, the copyright and trademark marks, and the five standalone skin tone swatches, which are modifiers rather than emoji in their own right. Printed as full-bleed plates on a paper strip they read as a typo, so the press leaves them out. Every skin tone applied to an actual person or gesture is still printed.

Open the page and it starts printing. Move your pointer to steer the roll, press Space to pause, hold B for turbo, press S to reshuffle the order, and press C to cycle the camera. Nothing needs setting up, and nothing on the paper is clickable, so you can leave it running.
Yes, the one that is printing right now. Open the press controls and the readout at the top of the Print tab shows the current emoji with its official Unicode name and category; click that card to copy the character. There is deliberately nothing to click on the paper itself, because Emoji Press is a screensaver first. If you want to hunt for a specific emoji, a searchable picker will always beat watching for it.
The roll prints using the emoji font already installed on your device, so anything your system has not shipped yet renders as a placeholder box. Emoji 17.0 reached iPhone in iOS 26.4 and other platforms are still rolling it out, so a handful of the newest designs may be blank until your device updates. That is expected, not a bug in the app.
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. The emoji names and sequences are embedded in the page, your settings stay in this browser's local storage, and nothing you do is uploaded. There are no accounts, no logins, and no tracking beyond basic anonymous page analytics.
Any modern browser with WebGL, on desktop or phone. It runs in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. On older integrated graphics you can turn off soft shadows and celebration particles in the Camera tab to keep it smooth.
That is what it is built for. Press the Fullscreen button, pick a paper theme that suits the room, and set the drive mode to Long curves or Meander so it wanders on its own without your pointer.
